"I have a DREAM"

Today as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr we are reminded of his dream. Dr. King's famous "I have a Dream" speech was delivered on the steps of Lincoln Memorial in 1963 and once a year to honor his great work, we reflect on his dream. Did it come true? Is it still a dream? Why in 2021 do I share the same dream of Dr. King? Although today is celebrated to honor his work, combating racial inequality through non violence resistance, it also is an inventory or quality control check for me.

Dr. King we have made some great strides, but we still have the same dream. We will forever be inspired by your words and advocacy. Thank you for teaching us how to fight, without a gun or sword but by using activism as a weapon. I will continue to dream with you Dr. King -Shawna Elizabeth
